James Kirkbride

I’m a psychiatric epidemiologist interested in understanding the links between social adversity, neighbourhoods, migration and minority status and psychosis risk. I joined UCL in 2014 to begin a Sir Henry Dale Fellowship, funded by the Wellcome Trust and Royal Society. You can read more about this research here. I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge in 2007 and an M.Sc. in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2003. My undergraduate training was in Geography, Business and the Environment (BA Hons). I am currently involved in several national and international research studies, and have published over 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Potential Ph.D. students

James is happy to accept potential Ph.D. students. Interested students should send an outline of their proposed PhD idea to James in the first instance. Further details about studying for a PhD within the UCL Division of Psychiatry can be found here.
